From 22 to 27 June, Pettorano sul Gizio will once again transform into a film set for an entire week, hosting the second edition of KinoAppennino, organised by Rewilding Apennines. Film professionals and enthusiasts will come together to produce short films of every genre in record time, giving priority to the strong bond between nature and culture that the village perfectly embodies.

2025 has taken us through many key milestones: from rivers flowing freely once again to communities choosing to move forward together. Season after season, these results show how rewilding becomes a tangible reality through people, patience and collective action.

For six days in July, the KinoApennino event saw Italy’s Central Apennine mountains transformed into an open-air film workshop. Guided by creative filmmakers, local residents stepped in front of the camera to help craft a range of moving short films — captivating audiences and sparking fresh enthusiasm for rewilding.
