This is the inspiration behind the Bear-Smart Communities Festival: an event designed to celebrate togetherness and enjoyment, while also reflecting on the relationship between humans and bears not just as a challenge, but as a great opportunity.

L’Orso Filato: theme of the first edition

With “L’Orso Filato”, the theme of the first edition (related to pasta filata to make mozzarella cheese), we want to give space and voice to all the communities of the central Apennines that are exploring new ways to live alongside this extraordinary animal, a symbol of our mountains.

These are communities that choose to grow, thanks in part to the presence of the bear.

Two days without barriers or formalities

We’ve brought together a range of energies – citizens, associations, institutions, and artists – to create a programme that blends culture, creativity, good food, nature, and connection. Two days in the open air to reflect, have fun, and experience community in a truly authentic way.
