The day began with a hike along the “Path of Coexistence” Chaliki–Elatakia, with the participation of teachers, journalists, and local residents. The “Paths of Coexistence” highlight local trails that connect the natural landscape, wildlife, and local communities. Through experiential routes and educational activities, the initiative aims to strengthen knowledge and awareness around biodiversity conservation and human–wildlife coexistence.

In the afternoon, the events continued in the village square, where a discussion was held with residents on the actions and results of the LIFE Bear-Smart Corridors project, coexistence with the brown bear, and the protection of the natural environment. Informational and educational material about LIFE Bear-Smart Corridors, the “Paths of Coexistence” in Chaliki, and human–bear coexistence was also distributed to residents and visitors.

The events were organized in cooperation with the Local Community of Chaliki, which plays an active role in protecting and promoting the area’s natural heritage through community initiatives and collective action.
