A seminar on past and future rewilding initiatives

Ten years after the first time rewilding began to be put into practice in the Central Apennines, Rewilding Apennines has decided to dedicate three days to the rewilding initiatives carried out in Italy and to strengthen the network that unites all those who deal with fauna, ecosystem restoration and coexistence, with a particularly attentive eye on future initiatives.

Precisely looking to the future, there is no doubt to consider the well-being of the coming generations strongly linked to the balance of the ecosystems in which they live. From this perspective, it is essential to address the epochal challenges of climate change, the biodiversity loss, and the relationship between humans and nature through the rewilding approach, to offer hope and problem solutions.

Students, PhD students, researchers, professionals in the sectors of environmental sciences, nature sciences, biology, ecology, nature conservation, forestry sciences, agronomic sciences, scientific communication, environmental engineering, environmental political and economic sciences are just some of the profiles that might find the seminar of particular interest. Furthermore, hiking guides, members of environmental associations, professionals in the ecotourism sector and nature enthusiasts are further recipients of the initiative.

A special spot for young people

Bruno D'Amicis

The participation of young people is particularly promoted, both because the themes of the seminar can be of great interest to numerous students from different fields of study and research, and because it is possible to actively participate in the seminar by nominating your own poster based on research or case studies relating to rewilding. Furthermore, 6 scholarships are provided for those who participate in the poster session, with the advantage of following the entire seminar for free.
