Wild Tales is the first edition of an international literary contest dedicated to rewilding.
On Saturday, August 24, Rewilding Apennines will announce and award prizes to the top three winners.
On August 24th at 6:00 PM, the award ceremony for the first edition of the international literary competition “Wild Tales“, organized by Rewilding Apennines, will take place at the Cantelmo Castle in Pettorano sul Gizio.
This initiative aims to promote a culture of respect and protection for nature, as well as a balanced relationship between humans and wildlife, through literature in both Italian and English.
This year’s theme focuses on combating the illegal use of toxic substances intended for animals, supporting our #LetsNotPoisonOurselves campaign.
Rewilding Apennines is excited to announce that it has received 13 stories, including 3 in English, showcasing interest in this important cause beyond national borders.
The 3 winners selected by the jury will be honored at the picturesque Cantelmo Castle, alongside representatives from the municipal administration and the Monte Genzana Alto Gizio Nature Reserve. During the ceremony, the winning stories will be read to the audience, creating a unique opportunity for immersion in storytelling and reflection. It will be a moment of cultural engagement, as well as a chance to discuss and share thoughts on this theme. Finally, there will be a convivial moment featuring a special menu and a visit to the Bear’s Den Interpretive Center, one of the most enchanting places in the Bear-Smart Community Genzana.
In the near future, Rewilding Apennines will highlight all the stories submitted to the competition, both online and through the publication of an anthology, with a commitment to celebrate the talent and sensitivity of these writers and contribute to such a noble and urgent cause!
